Cherry Rum Punch: A Rum Cocktail Recipe

You will enjoy this rum punch cocktail recipe.  Everyone knows Puerto Rico weather can be hot and humid. This twist on a punch is a great way to cool down when the sun is hot and enjoy Puerto Rican rum. Since it is National Cherry Month what better way to celebrate than Cherry Rum Punch? While the Acerola Cherry is known as the Caribbean Cherry, this recipe calls for good old fashioned cherry grenadine. In Puerto Rico this rum cocktail is served at parties and celebrations of all kinds as a simple and quick drink to throw together. So when you need to relax and are looking for a sweet treat Puerto Rican style, grab these ingredients and enjoy a glass of Cherry Rum Punch. It is best served over crushed ice and garnished with tropical fruits.

What you’ll need for this Rum Punch:

  • 2 parts White Rum
  • 1 1/3 parts Dark Rum
  • 1 part Triple Sec
  • 2 parts Sweet and Sour Mix
  • 2 parts Orange Juice
  • 1 Part Cherry Grenadine

How to Make One:

Shake all ingredients together with ice. Pour into a tall glass over ice to make it extra chilled. Garnish with fresh fruits like cherries, orange slices or papaya slices. Or for an even more impressive presentation, clean out the insides of a grapefruit and use the shell as a cup.  Enjoy!
