This is a simple fruit coulis sauce that can be adjusted with and fruit you prefer. We highly recommend giving it a try with a tropical fruit. You can use this on a dessert dish or even with chunks if fruit as a refreshing snack or dessert. The pepper adds a nice bit of heat to the fruit coulis and cuts the sweetness.
Ingredients
- 3/4 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
- 3/4 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 7 oz jars of your choice of a fruit Jam*
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
*For this recipe, you may choose any combination of Chali Jams. Combine flavors or stick with one. As long as you have a total of 14 oz for this recipe, the combinations are endless. Sold in 7 oz jars, flavors to choose from include: Mango, Parcha, Acerola, Papaya, Guayaba, Naranja, Tamarindo and Guanabana.
Directions
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add pepper and ginger, and cook 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to medium-low, and stir in your choice of Chali Jams, lime juice, and salt. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
