A hot toddy makes one think of holidays and cold winter nights by the fireplace. This hot toddy recipe adds a spicy kick to it – whether you are a fan of spicy or are looking to clear up those sinuses, this is a great cocktail recipe to give a try. Hot toddies came out of Ireland, and are typically a mixed drink made of liquor and water with honey (or, in some recipes, sugar), herbs (such as tea) and spices, and served hot.
You will need:
- 1 cup of Whiskey
- 3 cups water
- 1 tsp. Ginger
- 1 Tbsp. Honey
- 1 Tbsp. Lemon
- Splash of Caribbean Trading Company Hot Sauce
In a little bowl, whisk together the honey, a tablespoon. of lemon juice, and the hot sauce.
Put a cup of whiskey into a small saucepan. Add 3 cups of water and a few chunks of ginger. Let it simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
Add some lemon slices and the hot sauce mixture. Let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
