El Yunque Quarter Collection

Many of the nation’s collectors and American history enthusiasts seek the added value of a pristine uncirculated quarter from each mint. As circulated quarters continue to be difficult to find, these collections will become a premium item. These collections feature both a P and D minted quarter affixed to a 5″x5″ trifold card packed with interesting information, fascinating history and vibrant images. These collections make the entire series fit seamlessly together creating a comprehensive and valuable treasure for families and collectors alike.

The El Yunque Quarter’s reverse shows a Coqui tree frog sitting on a leaf and a Puerto Rican parrot (highly endangered) behind an epiphyte plant with tropical flora in the background. El Yunque National Forest was established as a national site on January 17, 1903 and is the first quarter of 2012. The quarter is part of the U.S. Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters Program TM.

Year of Issue: 2012

In 2010, the United States Mint began issuing 56 quarter-dollar coins featuring designs depicting national parks and other national sites as part of the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program. 2020 marks the eleventh year of the program and features the next five quarters.
