Recently we had written about taking a day to visit Palomino Island, one of the beautiful small islands off the east coast of Puerto Rico. We are excited to announce that there is a new service available to take a water taxi out to not only Palomino Island, but Icacos and Palominito Islands. If you are staying outside of the El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, but still want to experience these islands on your own terms, then this is the best way to do it….

The water taxi departs out of the marina in Las Croabas, generally at 10am. However, they will work with your schedule so give them a call. Also, they offer snorkeling gear for a daily rate that is very reasonable.

Palomino Island

This is the private island of the EL Conquistador Resort and offers many services and amenities, including bathrooms, lounge chairs, a bar and restaurant, horseback riding and a full range of water sports. Good beginner snorkeling! There is also shopping on the island – Caribbean Trading’s very own Island Outpost Gift Shop. So, make sure you stop in and say hi!

Icacos Island

Icacos is a small island that is white sand and clear waters with excellent snorkeling. It is uninhabited and has no natural water on the island, so the water surrounding it is always clear due to no rain water run-off. If a small slice of heaven all to yourself is what you are looking for, then this is the island for you.

Palominito Island

This is a very small island located off of Palomino. While very small, it is particularly know for it’s great reefs and snorkeling.
