Fun Geography / Landscape Factoids about Puerto Rico

Who doesn’t love a good factoid?  Here are some of our favorites about the landscape and geography of Puerto Rico.  If we missed one please comment and let us know!


  • The world’s 3rd largest underground river is in Camuy, Puerto Rico
  • El Yunque in Puerto Rico is the only tropical rainforest in the US Parks System
  • It is estimated that there is more Nickel in the mountains of Puerto Rico than in all of the U.S. combined.
  • The Bermuda Triangle is bounded roughly by Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.  You can visit the southernmost point by going to the Las Cabezas lighthouse in Fajardo.
