This excellent infographic was shared with us recently by Flipkey. Of course, these statistics are based on their data as a vacation home rentals website, so it provides an interesting twist to where this traveler segment is going. This is particularly true because vacation rental travelers are not really counted in official tourism numbers (which are based more on hotel room nights). Why do we like it so much? Well, Puerto Rico ranks in the top two spots, and you know our partiality to Puerto Rico – we live here and think it’s the best too! San Juan, Rincon, Culebra and Vieques all have a lot of great depth and scope for vacation rental properties at all price ranges, and all of these destinations boast excellent attractions. In addition, if you are planning a vacation, this graph will give you some good insight as to when to travel…. As it mentions, travel from Thanksgiving through New Year has the highest planning time. Makes sense: this is the most popular time to travel on the islands and properties book early and fast. But by referencing the graph, once can also see that there are many months where getting a good deal (both on flights and vacation rentals) is totally possible and one can enjoy Caribbean paradise on a budget.
