Small Inns and B&B’s in Eastern Puerto Rico

There are many excellent small inns and bed & breakfasts located in eastern Puerto Rico.  Whether your goal is to find something with character or personal charm, or are looking for a place to stay that is below resort prices, there are several great places that we often recommend to our customers.  Many times, we are asked for recommendations for a place to stay that very night.  For those of you planning a trip to Puerto Rico: this can be a risky strategy.  If budget is an important factor for you, it is best to book in advance.  There are certain times in the high season (January- August), where everything is at full capacity, and planning at the last moment can force you into either paying more that you want to, or driving into San Juan to get accommodations.  This list does not include vacation rentals, which is a whole category unto itself.  Here is a list of some of our favorite places on the eastern coast (by town):

Luquillo

Luquillo Sunrise Inn

Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn is a small hotel with 17 rooms, right across the street from the ocean in the town of Luquillo! Great ocean views from the balconies, walk across the street to swim.   The proprietors are extremely helpful and friendly and we oly ever hear great things about it.  A couple of restaurants and the Town Plaza are within walking distance.  Click Here for Website

Yunque Mar Parador

One of Yunque Mar’s characteristic attributes is their location on Luquillo’s Fortuna Beach, close to the main attractions of the eastern portion of the island. Parador Yunque Mar offers spectacular ocean views from its ample terrace, and the steady sound of the waves is simply unrivaled.  The hotel has 15 ample double guestrooms, including two family bedrooms that can accommodate four people and two suites for up to six guests. They recently made improvements to the pool area in order to offer a safer environment, larger rest areas, and increased privacy for their clients. Go to Website

Rio Grande

El Yunque Rainforest Inn

Small B&B at the edge of the El Yunque rain forest, beautiful private drive. Panoramic views towards the north coast ocean and mountains. Private hiking trail to secluded waterfall .  Friendly hosts live on property, serve a great breakfast. 3 night minimum.  website

Hacienda Alegre Inn B&B

A small Inn with Spanish Colonial architecture, endless open terraces, a luxurious swimming pool which make this Inn a great place to stay for your entire vacation. Located just 10 minutes up from Road #3, yet in the lush foothills of the El Yunque rainforest. All children welcome & some pets. 2 night minimum. ! website

Naguabo

Casa Flamboyant

Casa Flamboyant in the El Yunque Rainforest is a very private luxurious Inn with a magnificent views in the El Yunque rainforest. WiFi. Three rooms and a suite offer intimate luxury. Casa Cubuy EcoLodge

Situated on the South side of El Yunque Rainforest, Casa Cubuy offers comfortable lodgings where you are surrounded by the beauty and wonders of this lush rain forest.  Sunbathe on granite  boulders worn smooth by eons of swirling waters, relax in a hammock on the  verandah, read, or watch the clouds roll by in this peaceful setting of giant  tree ferns, towering breadfruit trees, cascading waterfalls, and wild orchids. The Ecolodge has ten rooms;l each of which has its own unique charm.  Top floor rooms offer private balconies with spectacular views and bottom floor rooms give guests easy access to the Casa Cubuy hiking trail.  There is a handicap accessible room on the main floor.  There is also one room with a private porch below the Casa Cubuy Restaurant.  Visit their Website

Ceiba

Ceiba Country Inn

Fajardo Inn

The Fajardo Inn is located less than 5 minutes from the Ferry Terminal to Culebra and Vieques, so this is an ideal place to stay if you are planning on getting on an early ferry.  Guests can choose from single rooms, single rooms with balconies, single suites, double family rooms, triple family rooms and our Presidential or Honeymoon Suites.  From 1-6 individuals can be accommodated depending on the room chosen.  Select suites include Jacuzzi tubs, DVD players, kitchenettes or full kitchens, refrigerators, microwaves, plus washers and dryers.  Special amenities here include Coco’s Park, an on-site activity area where you can enjoy tennis, swimming and basketball without having to leave your Fajardo accommodation.  Coco’s Park also includes a putt-putt course for kids and semi-Olympic size swimming lanes for adults to enjoy.  Click Here for Website
