From the historic city of Caguas, Puerto Rico, since she was a young girl she demonstrated her artistic abilities. With the artistic leadership of the renowned Victor Torres Lizardi, Marci was taught how to create Oleo paintings. Marci continued her education in music and arts at Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Once finished she took up music at Berkeley and at the same time she practiced her artistic abilities with the tutoring of the famous Thomas Hart Benton and Stanley Murphy from Martha’s Vineyard.
Marci returned to Puerto Rico in 1978 to create beautiful paintings of the Island, allowing others to enjoy the beauty as perceived through her eyes. “Through the arts, I have discovered the beauty of green, the light of my adored Puerto Rico. It was then, when I started visiting the lovely country sights of my Island, did I become fascinated with our Tropical Rain Forest “El Yunque”- with its freshness and the splendor of its habitat.
