September 20th is National Punch Day and we here at Caribbean Trading Company are celebrating by mixing up a yummy Caribbean Punch to enjoy with Sunday Brunch this weekend.  Caribbean means Rum and so we are planning a pretty basic rum punch drink that is sure to please…. Rum and lime are a great flavor combination.

Captain Tim’s Caribbean Punch

2 oz. Rum – light

½ ox. Lime Juice

3 tsp. Simple Syrup

2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters

3 or 4 ice cubes

Lime Slices (garnish)

Combine the rum, lime juice, simple syrup, bitters and ice in a cocktail shaker and shake.  Strain over ice cubes in a small tumbler.  Serves 1

** You can add grated nutmeg or some mint to this recipe to spice it up a bit.  We will be providing both nutmeg and mint as options with our Rum Punch.  Garnish with Lime Slices.

Serve this drink with a delicious rum cake to add a sweet ending to this meal. Click here to shop for authentic Caribbean rum cakes today.
